4D’s Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) uses a custom-built miniature hydraulic power unit (HPU) to power a 5 Degree-of-Freedom manipulator that can lift over 50 pounds. The 275 pound UGV can traverse rough terrain and steeply inclined surfaces, including stairways. The UGV is designed to be washed down with high-pressure water to simplify decontamination if the vehicle is exposed to toxic industrial chemicals (TICs), chemical or biological agents, or radioactive contamination.
With an ethernet-based architecture, the UGV is designed to allow new sensors and payloads to be rapidly integrated to meet specific end-user needs. Four cameras provide complete situational awareness for an operator, allowing them to maneuver effectively through challenging operational environments.
